Greenwood man arrested after stabbing

A Greenwood man was arrested after police said he cut another man with a knife.

Greenwood police were called to the 300 block of Maple Street at 6:45 p.m. Monday when a man reported he was stabbed in the arm.

The man told police his girlfriend’s son, Alex J. Pierce, 30, cut him in the arm. The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment, according to the police report.

Pierce had left the home but shortly after called police to tell them where he was. Officers went to arrest him, and Pierce told them he thought the man was making fun of him and stabbed him, the report said.

Pierce, 308 Maple St., was arrested on a charge of criminal recklessness and battery. He was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $2,400 bond.
