Edinburgh makes interim town manager permanent replacement

A new town manager has been named to lead Edinburgh.

Wade Watson succeeds the late John Drybread, who died in March from brain cancer, and has been serving as the interim town manager since Dec. 14.

Watson previously worked as the town’s building commissioner, starting in December 2011. He has continued serving as building commissioner while working as interim town manager.

As the new town manager, Watson will oversee the operations of the town’s 12 departments, which include utility services and management of the Timbergate Golf Course. His contract calls for him to be paid $67,000 a year.
