Unemployment slightly up in June

The rate of local residents out of work ticked up slightly last month, but is still down compared to 2015.

Last month, 3.8 percent of local workers were unemployed, compared to 3.6 percent in May, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

At the same time last year, the local unemployment rate was 4.1 percent, showing improvement from the same time last year.

The rates were similar for other central Indiana communities.
