Greenwood homes under construction vandalized

Four homes being built in Greenwood and two other neighboring properties were damaged by vandals late last week.

Homes being built by Ryan Homes on Holiday Way, in a subdivision near Griffith and Allen roads, were broken into and spray painted, the project manager told Greenwood police.

Two residents already living in the subdivision also reported damage to their properties.

A resident of Keepsake Run told police that someone had spray painted the fence Thursday night or early Friday, according to a Greenwood police report. A resident of Welcome Way reported that a vehicle had been spray painted.

The homes under construction had been broken into or the windows broken out, and the inside had been spray painted. Vandals caused $1,200 worth of damage when they spray painted the garage doors of one home. A basement window had been spray painted and a window busted at a nearby home, according to the reports.

At the third home on Holiday Way, a window had been broken from the inside, and the siding on the back of the home had been spray painted, the reports said. The living room of another home had been spray painted, the reports said.
