Bridge work causes lane closures on I-65

Expect lane closures on Interstate 65 this week while crews install bridge beams.

The right lane of southbound I-65 will close Thursday night between the County Line Road and Main Street exits in Greenwood. During that time, crews will install beams at the Main Street bridge, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Lanes along Main Street also will be closed for some of the work, the release said.

Drivers also can expect rolling roadblocks on I-65 when the beams are unloaded and set. Traffic will be slowed significantly by police, so that the area where work is being done will be clear of traffic for a short time period, the release said.

As long as the weather allows, work is planned to begin around 9 p.m. Thursday and be done by 6 a.m. Friday, the release said.
