School supplies available for families
A local cellular store is giving school supplies to local families.TCC’s annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway will be between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday at local stores at 120 W. Smith Valley Road, Suite E, and 81 N. State Road 135, both in Greenwood and 2199 N. Morton St., Franklin.
Families can pick up a backpack filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, glue and more.

About 1,300 stores will be participating across the country.

The Edinburgh American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 233 selected Blythe Carman and Heather Jones to attend the 75th annual session of Hoosier Girls State.
Five hundred other young women attended the government program designed to educate our leaders of tomorrow in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
