Two pop singers whose fan bases developed and grew as stars on Disney Channel programs will make a brief appearance near Edinburgh the afternoon of Aug. 3.

Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, both 23, will personally greet 10 fans selected from a text-to-win campaign beginning at 1 p.m. that day at Edinburgh Premium Outlets, 11622 NE Executive Drive. Organizers expect their stay to be less than an hour but will include ticket giveaways to the pair’s concert that night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The texting promo will start about 12:30 p.m., and attendees will be given instructions on how to participate.

Simon Premium Outlets, which owns Edinburgh Premium Outlets, is an exclusive retail sponsor of the singers’ concert tour.

Lovato’s latest single is the just-released “Body Say.” Jonas’ latest music is the disc “Last Year Was Complicated,” released last month.

The pair will provide answers to presubmitted questions, said Nathan Elrod, director of marketing and business development for the outdoor mall.

He said security will be tight, partly because of concerns after the killing of “The Voice” singer Christina Grimmie during a June post-concert autograph session in Orlando, Florida.

“Not very many people will get to meet Nick and Demi,” said Elrod. “But at least people will be able to say that they saw them.”

Elrod said mall officials expect several hundred people at the event, to be held under a tent in front of The Gap and Nike outlet stores on the mall’s south side.

The gathering is open to anyone, and organizers figure that shoppers already at the mall might be interested in various mall giveaways beginning in the tent area about 10:30 a.m.

Lovato starred in “Sonny With a Chance” from 2009 to 2011 and movies such as “Camp Rock” in 2008, which also featured the Jonas Brothers. Jonas appeared with his brothers Kevin and Joe in the “Jonas” show from 2009 to 2010.
