John Wayne Gore

FRANKLIN

John Wayne Gore, 69, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

He was born Dec. 17, 1946, to John W. and Mayola Gore.

He graduated from Southport High School in 1964.

He was the owner and operator of 33 bars throughout his lifetime. Notable ones include Claude and Annie’s, John Wayne’s, Hi-Way Lanes-Austin’s Bar and Grill, and the latest, BoJak’s Bar and Grille located in Franklin. His very first bar was called the “Aloha” in 1976.

Survivors include his loving children, Austin W. Gore and Ashleigh P. Gore, and their mother, Linda Kopetsky; brother, Mark Gore; cousins; as well as many caring staff members who worked for him over the years. John and Linda together started a very successful trucking company that is still in operation today. The company name is Go-Ko, Inc., which this year is celebrating its 25th year in business.

Memorial visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, with a celebration of life to be conducted at 7 p.m.
