Vehicles rummaged through in Franklin

Police are investigating after multiple vehicles were rummaged through in a Franklin neighborhood, and residents reported seeing a man in the area.

Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, Franklin police were called to the Cumberland Commons subdivision west of U.S. 31.

The first call to police came from a resident who saw someone shining a flashlight into vehicles along Grand Canyon Circle and Cumberland Drive, according to the report.

Police also got calls from residents whose vehicles had been rummaged through. One woman said $30 was missing from her vehicle along Grand Canyon Circle, and another man said two of his vehicles along Niagara Lane had been gone through and that he saw a man walking around and carrying a flashlight, according to the report.

Two weeks ago, as many as eight cars were rummaged through in a nearby Franklin neighborhood.
