Mary Elizabeth Pierce, 81, passed away Friday evening, July 15, 2016, in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Feb. 14, 1935, in Hendricks County, to Virgil and Anna (Smith) Falconberry.
Mary married Ernest Pierce on Sept. 1, 1962. He lovingly survives.
She also is survived by one son, Ed (Bonnie) Mitchell of Ormond Beach, Florida; one granddaughter, Carena Mitchell; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Braden, Jonathan, Natalie and Noah; and four siblings, Carolyn, Betty, Doris and Jim.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, and many brothers and sisters.
Mary was employed by Varymit Mills in Franklin until their closing. In 1972, she began her career with the Greenwood Post Office, retiring in 2004 after 32 years of dedicated service.
She attended First Separate Baptist Church in Franklin. Mary adored her great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was an excellent wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time in her yard and being surrounded by nature.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
