Traffic shift planned on I-65

Motorists will notice a change in their commute on Interstate 65.

On Friday night, crews will shift traffic in the northbound lanes between the Franklin and Whiteland exits to the center of the interstate, according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Traffic will use the middle of the interstate to allow crews to remove and rebuild the lanes. The shift also will allow crews to complete work on two bridges at State Road 44 and Hurricane Road.

The lane reconstruction and bridge work are a part of an $84 million project to add another lane in each direction to I-65 between Main Street in Greenwood and the State Road 44 in Franklin.
