Joshua Douglas Shelton, 26, of Franklin, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Indianapolis.

He was born July 3, 1990, in Greenfield to Mark Douglas and Lea Ann (Kingery) Shelton.

Josh is a graduate of Whiteland Community High School, class of 2009.

He volunteered through Gateway Services at the Vineyard Community Church on Wednesdays.

Josh loved video games, especially, Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts. He enjoyed the Disney channel and movies; his favorite character was Olaf. He also was a big fan of The Beatles, always singing the songs, “Yellow Submarine” and “Hello, Goodbye.”

Josh loved his family and loved everyone. He was very accepting of others.

He was a member of the Victory Christian Church.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Lea Ann Shelton of Franklin; sister, Kelli Elizabeth (Daniel) Graham of Franklin; grandmother, Gladys Shelton; aunts and uncles, Karla and Rick Crossley, Don Turner, Mark and Debbie Kingery, Jan and Jim Six, Jay and Beve Shelton, and Jeff and Sarah Shelton; two nephews, Gabe and Cameron Graham; several cousins; and his special dog, Bandit.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Wayne Shelton, grandparents, Cecil and Virginia Kingery; and an aunt, Glennetta Turner.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
