Edinburgh police open house set

The Edinburgh Police Department wants to invite the community to meet its officers and see the equipment they use.

The police department will display its vehicles and equipment and residents can meet the officers and the chief at the station at 6 p.m. Wednesday. During that time, nearby departments will be patrolling Edinburgh streets and responding to calls, according to a news release from the police department.

Officers will be at the station, located at 200 S. Main St., to answer questions and talk with the community, the release said. The event will last an hour.

“With what is occurring in our nation right now I feel that it’s important that we continue our spirit of community policing and an event such as this allows to the public to learn more about us and how that we as a community can work together to better serve all,” Edinburgh Police Chief David Mann said in the release.
