Douglas A. Davidson

INDIANAPOLIS

Douglas A. Davidson, age 92, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016.

He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Helen (Staehle) Davidson. Doug graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago with the Class of 1942. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served in the South Pacific.

He worked for many years as a trucking dispatcher and as a salesman for various companies. He attended St. John’s United Church of Christ and was a member of the Greenwood American Legion, the Loyal Order of the Moose and was an active member of Baxter YMCA. He didn’t know a stranger, and he will be missed by all.

Doug married the love of his life, the former Joan Lundgren, in Chicago on Sept. 3, 1948, and she survives him along with his daughter, Jan (Russell) Worman of New Palestine; sister, Marilyn (Herbert) Schmutzler of Downer’s Grove, Illinois; granddaughters, Amber Worman and her friend, Kyle Christie, of Denver, Colorado and Katelynn (Logan) Corbin of Arizona; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial and Military Honors to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
