A Franklin man died after an accident early Saturday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., deputies were called by relatives of David A. Sewell, 26, whose vehicle was found flipped in a field near Union Elementary School.

Sewell was seriously injured and taken to an Indianapolis hospital, where he later died, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Werden said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash, Werden said.

Relatives began looking for Sewell after he did not return home early Saturday morning. They found his vehicle in a field off Division Road and County Road 400W, which is just south of Union Elementary School, Werden said.

Sewell’s vehicle had gone off the road and flipped, and he was ejected, Werden said.
