Scott A. Pendleton

Scott A. Pendleton, 51, Greenwood, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday morning, June 30, 2016, following a valiant 10-year fight against multiple myeloma.

Scott was born Oct. 19, 1964, in Franklin to Rebecca (Walters) and Phillip Pendleton.

He graduated from Greenwood Community High School in 1983. He served his country in the United States Army from 1983 to 1985. He attended Austin Peay State University and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

In 1988, he married Marie Clyburn. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to begin their life together. They remained in Nashville for three years and always dreamed of returning there to live.

In the time of his retirement in 2013, he worked as a manager at The Sports Licensed Division of the Adidas Group.

Scott was a strong believer in the salvation you receive through Jesus Christ and lived by the motto: Faith, Family and Friends. He was a 17-year member of Greenwood Christian Church.

He is survived by his parents, Phil and Becky Pendleton of Greenwood; wife, Marie Pendleton of Greenwood; his son Bradley (Hannah Stroup) of Greenwood; a brother, Brian Todd (Beverly) Pendleton of Franklin; his uncle, Phil (Charlotte) Walters of Fort Myers, Florida; his aunt, Jeanett Pendleton; his cousin, Vicki Allen-Doyle of Cicero; his mother in-law, Elizabeth Clyburn of Greenwood; nephews and niece, Ethan (Sarah) and Daniel Pendleton, Leland (Julie) Robertson and Heather (Tom) Morishita; two great-nieces and three great-nephews; and numerous cousin and friends whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Irene Walters and Arvil and Vada Pendleton

A Celebration of Life Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Christian Church. Calling will be from 1 p.m. to service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Miles for Myeloma (cancer.iu.edu/m4m) in memory of Scott.
