Lois Alene Moore

Lois Alene Moore, 87, of Bargersville, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2016, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Lothar, Owsley County, Kentucky, to Daniel Boone Moore and Emily (Rowland) Moore.

She married Paul George Moore on Dec. 6, 1947, in Connersville; he survives with 68.5 years of marriage.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church.

She enjoyed music, playing the keyboards including the organ and accordion, and singing hundreds of songs entirely from memory.

She and her husband spent 21 winters in Bradenton, Florida.

She had been a service advisor of United Telephone Co., later becoming Century Link, for 30 years, retiring in 1992.

Survivors include her husband, Paul George Moore of Bargersville; a daughter, Pauletta Moore of Bargersville; two sons, James W. Moore (Vickie) of Greenwood, and Don E. Moore (Julie) of Washington, Indiana; eight grandchildren Jamey Hinchman (Elishaba) of New Palestine, Jesse Payne (Rod) of Nineveh, Anthony Moore (Holly) of Summerville, South Carolina, Kyle Moore of Indianapolis, Wesley Moore of Greenwood, Amanda Moore, Megan Moore, and Daniel Moore all of Washington, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Eva Blanton of Franklin, Helen Jarnigin of Kankakee, Illinois, Glenda Tuttle (George) of Connersville, Jean Doulen of Connersville and Wanda Mills (Bob) of Glencoe, Kentucky;  and brother, Danny Moore (Rosalie) of Kansas City, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Nancy Moore of Connersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Herman Moore, Jim Moore and Ray Moore.

The Rev. Max Down will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Franklin.
