Dear Professor Hamilton,
Thank you for your article “Democracy about more than President” that appeared in the Daily Journal (June 14). It is refreshing to read a voice of reason in this contentious political year.
I particularly like your challenge to us to be responsible for our own citizenship by working together, problem-solving and using reason, hard work and skills to contribute to our communities. It seems that the volunteer groups I work with are ideal models of continual progress that mirror your suggestions. Hoping that more individuals will take part in the many positive opportunities available to improve and strengthen our communities, state and country.
