Dorothy Marie Farrar, 93, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016.
She was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, to William C. and Elizabeth (Stone) Mattingly. She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School with the Class of 1940.
Dorothy was a member of Alethia Church and the Greenwood Senior Citizens. She loved to quilt, do puzzles, listen to audiobooks, play cards and fish. She is dearly loved by all who know her and will be sorely missed.
Dorothy married Clarence A. Farrar on Sept. 6, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1987. She also was preceded in death by sons, Clarence Wayne, James Lee and John David Farrar; and 10 brothers and one sister.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Susan Maree (Mark) Wyatt of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Linda Farrar of Southport; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at noon Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Social of Greenwood Senior Center, 550 Polk St, Greenwood, IN 46143.
