Medical records taken from vehicle

Patients’ records were taken when a nurse’s unlocked vehicle was rummaged through while parked at her home in Franklin.

The nurse called Franklin police Wednesday morning to report the theft of the files, a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff from her vehicle parked in the 400 block of Ohio Street, according to a police report.

The thief took a backpack that contained “files and documents related to her nursing clients,” the report said.

How many clients, the details of what information was included in the files and how the clients are being notified was not clear. What agency the nurse works for also was not available.

The thief did not take medications or other items inside the vehicle, the report said.

Police have no suspects at this time, the report said.
