Devin Robert Walker, 17, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

He was born April 29, 1999, in Fort Wayne, to Adam Robert Walker and Rachel Marie (Shinabery) Walker.

He just completed his junior year at Franklin Community High School. He also worked at Wendy’s in Franklin. He enjoyed creative thinking and role-playing games “Dungeons and Dragons” and trading card games “Magic the Gathering.” He had a brilliant and strategic mindset.

Survivors include his parents, Adam Robert Walker and Rachel Marie (Shinabery) Walker of Franklin; brother, Cole Gable Walker, and sister, Zoe Mae Walker, both at home in Franklin; maternal grandparents, Laura Mae and Alan C. Peterson of Fort Wayne; paternal grandparents, Carla and Bernie Greulich of Fortville, and Gary and Kathy Walker of Sullivan; great-grandparents, Robert and Arlene Hunsaker of St. Elmo, Illinois, Bud and Ruby Shinabery of Fort Wayne, and Mary Greulich of Louisville, Kentucky; aunts and uncles, Chrissy and Charles Kelley of Indianapolis, Bob and Veronica Shinabery of Fort Wayne, Melinda and Jeff Brock of Geist in Indianapolis, Katey Greulich of Indianapolis and Jessica and John Ingemi of Indianapolis; and nine cousins.

Father Steven Schaftlein will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive, Franklin. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

Adam and Rachel will be establishing a fund in memory of Devin directed to a non-profit mental health foundation at a later date. Checks may be payable to Adam and Rachel Walker and be given at the mortuary or mailed to Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 Franklin, IN 46131.
