Vehicles ransacked in Franklin neighborhood

Residents in a Franklin neighborhood found their vehicles had been rummaged through and electronics had been stolen.

In one case, a resident reported that it looked like someone had tried to steal the vehicle by using another set of keys.

At least five vehicles were rummaged through in the Arbor Springs neighborhood, off Hospital Road in Franklin, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Residents in the neighborhood and the one next door also had reported at least eight vehicle break-ins about two weeks ago.

At one home this week, a resident reported three vehicles had been gone through, change had been stolen and someone tried to steal one vehicle, according to the Franklin Police Department report.

Just down the street, a man found his car had been gone through and his GPS device broken on the ground nearby, the report said.

An officer driving through the neighborhood after the break-ins were reported spotted another vehicle with the door hanging open about a block away, the report said. The resident didn’t notice anything missing, but the vehicle had been rummaged through.
