Deputies tase man during trespass arrest

Deputies used a Taser on a man who they said would not cooperate while he was being arrested.

Michael T. Rigdon, 38, 1546 Leonard St., Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespass, resisting an officer, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies were called to a home in Center Grove Estates, a mobile home community off County Line Road, just before 6 p.m. Sunday on a trespassing report.

They found Rigdon on the property, where he was not allowed. Deputies ordered Rigdon to show them his hands and he put one hand in his pocket, pulled out an item and threw it on the ground. The deputy used his Taser on Rigdon, the report said. Deputies found a glass smoking pipe and a white powder on the ground near Rigdon, the report said.

Emergency workers checked Rigdon, and he was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $4,200 bond.
