Irvin “Stu” V. Cullison

INDIANAPOLIS

Irvin “Stu” V. Cullison, 78, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Born July 2, 1937, in Bloomfield, to the late Lee and Hazel (Dell) Cullison, he was a 1956 graduate of Tech High School and attended Indiana Central College.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1960, and was awarded the Soldier of the Year Award in 1962, before being honorably discharged in 1965.

Stu ministered to veterans by volunteering at the the VA Hospital and at Warrior’s Hope. He was saved at Beech Grove Assembly Church in 1960 and continued to serve at Faith Assembly Church.

He owned and operated Cullison Electric Inc., which was co-founded with his brother in 1974.

A craftsman at heart, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and held his private pilot license.

He will be loved and missed by his lovely wife of 58 years, Geraldine (Bellows) Cullison; their children, Karen (Rick) Keen, Gregory (Cathee) Cullison, and Sherri (Randy) Dugger; grandchildren, Michelle (Tye) Flowers, Ryan (Patricia) Donovan, Brittany (Adam) Conklin, Brad Cullison, Lauren Cullison, Reese Dugger and Caden Dugger; two great-grandchildren, Adalynn Conklin and Kendall Donovan; and siblings, Lowell (Betty) Cullison and Marie Souder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Virgil Lucas, Lee Cullison and brother-in-law, George Souder.

Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
