GREENWOOD
Melissa Sue (Eldridge) Shaw, 41, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at her residence in Greenwood. She was born Sept. 14, 1974, in Franklin.
Melissa graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 1992.
She obtained her degree in accounting from Franklin College.
Melissa began her career as an accountant, but shortly thereafter left that to pursue her ministry as a child care provider.
Although she only had one biological child, she loved and nurtured many other children as if they were her own.
Melissa married Robert “Rob” Shaw on June 6, 1998. They celebrated their 18th anniversary on the day of her passing.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Rob; son, Caleb; parents, Wayne and Judy (Robinette) Eldridge; siblings, Matt (Brye) Eldridge and Andrea (Rob) Mitchell; and grandmother, Edna Eldridge. She leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Melissa was preceded in death by three grandparents and one niece.
A celebration of Melissa’s life will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 W. Main St., Greenwood, with Pastor Steve Czajkowski officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. at the church.
