Martinsville resident arrested with marijuana

A Martinsville man was arrested after sheriff’s deputies found a half-pound of marijuana in his vehicle.

Dylan K. Brill, 23, 620 Graham Drive, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on State Road 37 late Tuesday.

Just before midnight, a sheriff’s deputy stopped Brill’s vehicle for speeding near Travis Road. The deputy could smell marijuana and noticed Brill seemed nervous, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Brill told deputies he had about a half-pound of marijuana that he had just recently picked up that he planned to sell to support his family, the report said.

He also told deputies he had recently been arrested on State Road 37 for similar charges, and was working through a court program, the report said.

Brill was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $1,200 bond.
