Girl struck on bicycle

A girl was taken to an Indianapolis hospital after being struck on her bicycle.

The accident happened just before 4 p.m. Thursday on Worthsville Road, west of U.S. 31.

The driver of the vehicle told police the bicycle drove in front of her and she was unable to stop, according to a Greenwood Police Department report. A witness told police traffic heading east on the road was stopped due to traffic, and the girl rode her bike in between two cars and in front of the vehicle heading west, the report said.

The girl was not able to speak to police after the accident because she was in pain, the report said. Her mother was called, and the girl was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health. The report did not identify the girl. Her condition was not available.
