SHELBY COUNTY
Ruby E. Richards, 97, of Shelby County, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at Franklin United Methodist Community.
She was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Bartholomew County.
She was the daughter of Clarence A. and Emma (O’Haver) Neville. She married Homer S. Richards, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Burgett of Nineveh; a son, Larry (Nancy) Richards of Shelby County; a grandson, David Burgett; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Burgett, Heather Burgett and Hannah Burgett; three great-great-grandchildren, and a half-sister, Thelma Brown of Shelby County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, James Neville and Joe Neville; and a sister, Edelle Neville.
She was member of the Mount Auburn Christian Church. She enjoyed time with family, gardening, mowing grass and ironing.
Rev. Lewis Burton will conduct a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Shelby County.
