Fiber Festival set at fairgrounds

Local artisans of all skill levels can stock up on supplies and take classes in weaving and needlework this weekend at the annual Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival at the Johnson County fairgrounds in Franklin.

Classes in knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning, beadwork and felting will be offered during the two-day celebration Friday and Saturday. Participants can learn heirloom skills using natural fibers from several different animals.

The festival will include a variety of vendors offering supplies, tools and demonstrations. Musical groups will perform at various times during the festival.

The fairgrounds are at 250 Fairground St., Franklin. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

There is no admission charge, but there is a fee for the workshops.
