Fraud, narcotics investigation
Fifth Third Bank, 1160 N. Main St: Police responded at 3:03 p.m. Friday to a report of a woman attempting to cash a check that had been reported stolen. The victim, a man, had left a briefcase containing the check and other items at another location and didn’t realize the items were missing until later. A woman was arrested for forging a check in the victim’s name that was taken from a stolen checkbook, according to the report.
200 block of Hurricane Street: Police responded at 5:45 p.m. Friday to a report of theft and forgery. A bag containing stolen property found at a residence. A needle and drug paraphernalia also were found in the house. The stolen items and drug items appeared to be connected to a woman in jail arrested for forgery and theft earlier, according to the report.

Cashland, 154 N. U.S. 31: Police responded at 11:23 a.m. Saturday to a report of stolen merchandise caught on surveillance footage earlier in the week.
