Man hospitalized after road rage incident

A road rage incident ended in a crash, and with one of the drivers involved helping the motorcyclist who had punched his mirror.

The crash happened at Olive Branch and Saddle Club roads late Friday.

A man driving a truck and a motorcyclist had been involved in a road rage incident in Greenwood. The motorcyclist, Colin Platt, 21, of Bargersville, had punched the mirror on the truck driven by Dallas Wheeler of Bargersville, Wheeler told a Johnson County sheriff’s deputy. Wheeler began following Platt, and Platt wrecked because of his speed, Wheeler told the deputy.

Wheeler called 911 and helped Platt while waiting for emergency crews, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Platt told the deputy he lost control when he hit gravel or sand and hit the guardrail, the report said. He told the deputy that a man was chasing him.

Platt was taken to a hospital. His condition was not available.
