Here is a look at Memorial Day events:

Biscuits and gravy breakfast: The Franklin American Legion annual biscuits and gravy breakfast will be 7:30 to 10 a.m. today at the post, 1200 Park Ave. Donations will be accepted to benefit a veterans organization.

Courthouse: U.S. Marine Corps veteran Brian Folco will speak at 11 a.m. Monday on the courthouse lawn in Franklin.

Rocklane Cemetery: Greenwood VFW Post 5864 wants volunteers to place flags on veterans’ graves at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Greenlawn Cemetery: Franklin American Legion wants volunteers to put flags on veterans’ graves at 10 a.m. today, after a short ceremony.

Cemetery services: The Greenwood and Whiteland VFWs will have memorial services at Greenwood cemeteries today. The service schedule is: 9 a.m. Rocklane; 9:30 a.m. Greenwood; 10 a.m. Mount Pleasant; 10:30 a.m. Olive Branch and 11 a.m. Forest Lawn.

Memorial Day Mass: SS. Francis & Clare Church, 5901 Olive Branch Road, Greenwood, will have mass at 8:45 a.m. Monday to pray for the safety and well-being of those who served and are currently serving. Veterans are encouraged to wear uniforms and medals. A reception will follow.

5K run/walk: Following Mass and a memorial service. SS. Francis & Clare will be hosting a 5K and fun run that will begin at 10:15 a.m. Monday. To register, visit ss-fc.org/race.

Poppy drive: Greenwood VFW Post 5864 will be giving out poppies at businesses and restaurants in Greenwood from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, including Rural King, all Kroger stores, Marsh, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Sam’s Club and Golden Corral. The poppies are free, but the post is raising donations to help veterans.
