Woman rear-ends stopped semi, taken to hospital

A Trafalgar woman was hospitalized Wednesday after her car rear-ended a stopped semi on Interstate 65.

Emily Drake, 25, was driving south on I-65 around 2:45 a.m, just south of the Greenwood exit.

A semi truck was stopped due to construction, and Drake’s car ran into the back of the truck, Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said.

Drake was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, where she was placed in the intensive care unit but listed in good condition, hospital spokesman Todd Harper said.

The semi-truck driver was not injured in the accident, Perrine said.

One lane of I-65 was closed for about an hour after the accident for clean-up and investigation, Perrine said.
