Edna (Seal) Schrougham

MORGANTOWN

Edna (Seal) Schrougham, 91, passed away Wednesday morning, May 25, 2016, at Aspen Trace Senior Living Community in Greenwood. She was a resident of Greenwood and a former resident of Morgantown.

Edna was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Sneedville, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Ollie (Collins) Seal.

She married her devoted husband of 67 years, Merrill M. Schrougham, on Dec. 20, 1941, in Nashville. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 2009.

She attended the Grace Community Church in Edinburgh and was a former member of the Spearsville Wesleyan Church in Brown County.

Edna enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church and playing the card game, Skip-Bo.

Edna is survived by her children, Merrileen (Kenneth) Patrick of Brown County, Kay (Ted) Anderson, Lois (Steve) Wyrick and Patricia Schrougham, all of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth “Trudy” Seal of Gorham, Maine, and brother-in-law, Joseph Smith of Bargersville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ollie (Collins) Smith, father, Fred Seal; siblings, Lillie Mae Brock, Phyllis Crafton, Jessie Adams, Iva Kean, Irene Burchett, Lester Smith, Willie Smith and Chester Seal.

In keeping with Edna’s wishes, the Rev. Tommie Phillips will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
