Unemployment rate down in April

The local unemployment rate fell in April.

The county’s unemployment rate dropped to 4 percent, down from 4.6 percent in March.

At the same time, the size of the county’s workforce grew, according to data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The local unemployment rate was slightly higher than it was at the same time last year, when the rate was 3.8 percent, according to the state report.

Across central Indiana, unemployment rates fell slightly for other counties.
