WANAMAKER

Dennis G. Hunter, 64, of Wanamaker, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

He was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Zionsville to Don and Luetta (Coval) Hunter.

He married Joyce A. (Lanham) Hunter on Dec. 4, 1976, in Franklin; she survives.

He was a 1970 graduate of Franklin Community High School where he played on the football team.

He worked for his father for many years then owned and operated Hunter Chassis and Alignment until 1995 in Whiteland. He then worked for Stoops Freightliner in Indianapolis till 2000.

He and his wife served as hostess and security at Camp Atterbury for four years.

He loved fishing, camping, old cars, and spending time with his family. He also loved seeing his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. (Lanham) Hunter of Wanamaker; son Jason Hunter (Mistie) of Wanamaker, daughters, Stacy Hunter of Indianapolis, Stephanie Hunter-Hill of Indianapolis and Suzanne Flowers (Derrick) of Beech Grove; 12 twelve grandchildren; four brothers Jerry Hunter (Judy) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Ken Hunter (Tina) of Nashville, Kent Hunter (Elizabeth) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Mark Hunter (Vicky) of Franklin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (S. Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the mortuary.
