Letter: Salesforce tower of strength in Indy

To the editor:

I salute the Salesforce cloud computing company and want to express my appreciation to the company for the many good jobs and office space demand associated with its recently announced move to the Indianapolis area.

Happily, Salesforce may have come to accept that the undeniably business friendly, low-cost environment of our state just might trump the company’s previous assertions that the state’s RFRA legislation would subject customers and employees to onerous discrimination.

In reality, the RFRA legislation is no more than a reaffirmation of First Amendment rights. The argument that it will cast Indiana as a backward, intolerant state totally offensive to today’s “educated” individuals and “enlightened” organizations is far wide of the mark, and lacks any objective supporting evidence. I thank Salesforce for perhaps recognizing that reality.
