Franklin honored for playgrounds, parks

The city of Franklin is being recognized for its playgrounds and parks for the seventh time.

Franklin is one of 257 communities receiving the distinction as a 2016 Playful City USA Community by the Humane Foundation and KaBOOM! This is the seventh time Franklin has gotten the award during the program’s 10 years.

The group picks cities that attract and retain residents with their parks and recreational facilities and amenities. Franklin is one of five Indiana cities and towns to receive the award. Among Indiana cities and towns, only Bloomington and Fishers have won the award more times than Franklin.
