Hearts & Darts – May 16

Hearts:

  • A big heart to the Needham Elementary School PTO. They go above and beyond not only during Teacher Appreciation Week, (first full week of May each year), but all through the year. You guys really know how to make a person feel appreciated! Thank you.

  • Pet Elves thanks Tractor Supply in Franklin for graciousness hosting our adoption events every Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. And big hearts to all of the generous people who have donated money, pet food and cat litter so that we can continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home as many dogs and cats as possible.

  • Hearts and flowers to the Johnson County Garden Club planning team and workers, Master Gardeners and the Purdue Extension crew for creating a beautiful Garden Celebration on May 7 at the fairgrounds. Thanks also to our vendors, speakers, customers and to our families for helping. Special thanks to the Daily Journal (Ryan Trares, Magen Kritsch and Janet Hommel Mangus) for outstanding publicity, the many businesses who included us on their signs, and to Ann’s Restaurant for providing a great place to have our planning meetings throughout the year. Happy gardening.

Dart

  • Last fall I submitted a heart to the Daily Journal carrier who delivers the paper to Needham. Unfortunately, I now must turn that heart into a dart. The paper is no longer put where it is out of the elements like it used to be. It is now thrown where it sits in the rain. (Those bags are not 100 percent waterproof!)
