Franklin College conducts donation drive

As they wrap up finals, prepare for graduation or just pack up to move back home for the summer, Franklin College students are using the end of the spring semester as a time to give back.

And because hauling belongings in and out of dorm rooms and apartments is a hassle, their spring cleaning is going to a good cause.

This week, donation receptacles for Goodwill and the Interchurch Food Pantry are set up on campus where students can trade in gently used clothing or household goods for Goodwill and unopened food or hygiene products for the pantry.

The Grizzly Rummage Sale and Donation Drive, happening through Friday, encourages students to exemplify the college’s values of respect and responsibility for themselves and their community, according to a news release from Franklin College.

Students support national and local efforts that battle poverty, while recycling items that would otherwise be thrown away, the release said.
