Beverly K. Hestand

GREENWOOD

Beverly K. Hestand, 67, Greenwood, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 8, 2016.

Born Aug. 22, 1948, in Allen County, Kentucky, to the late James Hobert and Gladys Marie (Davis) Herrington, she was a 1966 Arsenal Technical High School graduate, when she met the love of her life, Richard.

They have owned and operated the Dairy Queen at U.S. 31 and Main Street for 30 years. In addition, Bev retired from AT&T after 40 years of service.

She was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her hobbies included playing cards, cooking and watching sports.

She was a former member of Mount Zion General Baptist Church and attended Emmanuel of Greenwood.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Richard A. Hestand; children, Richard A. Hestand II (Kathie) and Rhonda Lane (Steve); five grandchildren, Connor and Garrett Lane, Taylor, Katrina and Nicholas Hestand; siblings, Gayle Cogdill (Wayne), Karen Little (George), Janice Childers (Larry) and Daniel Herrington; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
