Clarence Elvin “Chub” Money, 85, of New Whiteland, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at the United Methodist Community in Franklin.

Clarence was born March 1, 1931, in Indianapolis to the late Clarence L. and Anna C. (Strawder) Money.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In Indianapolis on Dec. 20, 1950, he married Violet Leak; they were married for 65 years.

Chub worked in commercial printing, retiring from Ropkey Graphics in 1996.

He enjoyed playing pool and fishing. He loved watching his sons and grandchildren participate in sports.

Chub was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Money of New Whiteland; four sons, Dean Money of California, R. Lee (Cindy) Money of Greenwood, Gary (Dawna) Money of Carmel and Alan (Kim) Money of Texas; six grandchildren, Justin (Liz) Money of North Carolina, Hillary (Will) Lyle of Ohio, Courtney (Drew) Patterson of Massachusetts, Brandon (Katelyn) Money of Westfield, Dr. Adam (Ally) Money of South Carolina and Brittany (Sean) Graft of Zionsville; and four great-grandchildren, Ella Money, Lyla Money, Jackson Money and Charlie Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe A. Money.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
