INDIANAPOLIS
Steve A. Montgomery, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016.
Survivors include his wife Judy A. (Kemmerer) Montgomery of Indianapolis; a son Scott A. Montgomery (Tonya Settles) of Indianapolis, daughter Sarah A. Downs (Zech) of Indianapolis; mother Martha Evelyn (Jarrett) Montgomery of Johnson City, Tennessee; brothers, Dr. Kenneth Bruce Montgomery (Carol) of Johnson City, Tennessee and Gary Wayne Montgomery (Rita) of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren Jayden James Burts and Carter James Downs; three step-grandchildren, Jazmen Downs, Treston Downs and Zoey Downs; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Kenneth Montgomery.
He was a retired Southport High School educator.
He was a member of The Sertoma Club of Greenwood where he was serving on the board of directors.

A service will conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 U.S. 31 South (East Street) in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Perry Stadium at Southport High School, 971 E. Banta Road (at Shelby Street) in Indianapolis and 9:30 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
