Camp Riley program open to applicants

Applications are being accepted for this year’s Camp Riley program, a camp for kids with physical disabilities.

“Olympics” is the theme for the camp in 2016. Online applications to secure a spot are available at rileykids.org/Camp. Camp Riley is hosted at Bradford Woods, Indiana University’s outdoor recreation center in Martinsville.

The staff-to-camper ratio never exceeds 1 to 3. Children ages 8 to 18 can attend one of five Camp Riley sessions offered during a six-week span in June and July. Sessions offer swimming, hiking, horseback riding, vertical climbing, canoeing, art projects and other activities.

New families may attend Newcomer’s Day on May 21 at Camp Riley to learn more.

Riley Children’s Foundation subsidizes the majority of each child’s camper fee. The fee families are asked to pay is determined on a sliding scale based on household income.
