FRANKLIN

Linda Maxine (Spaugh) Wright, age 75, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

She was born May 2, 1940, in Hartsville in Decatur County to Walter and Elizabeth (Coffman) Spaugh.

She married Paul E. Wright on Aug. 1, 1986, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2002.

Linda graduated from Jackson Township High School in Decatur County in 1958 and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She worked as an office manager for 7K Farms in Taylorsville for several decades.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Franklin Ward. In 1964 and 1965 she served as a church missionary in Alaska and British Columbia, Canada, and then in Nauvoo, Illinois on 2009.

She was a member of the Relief Society, a global women’s service organization and volunteered regularly for the USO at Camp Atterbury. She also enjoyed researching family history.

She was the soulmate of Paul, a loving wife and mother.

Survivors include her children, Lizabeth A. Franklin of Georgetown, Texas, Robert P. Wright of Mammoth, Utah, Mark K. Wright (Georgeanna) of Greenwood, Brian D. Wright (Heidi) of Bargersville and Laura K. Elliott (Daniel) of Martinsville; grandchildren (Liz:) Kelly J. Franklin, Kathleen F. Franklin, Christian S. A. Franklin, (Robert:) Brittny L. Wright Peterson, Amber L Wright Davenport, (Mark:) Kristen L. Wright, Leah C. Wright, (Brian:) Brendon D. Wright, Keaton J. Wright, Ashlynne K. Keller, Raegen B. Keller, Morganne E. Keller, (Laura:) Sarah A. Elliott, Jessica T. Elliott, Aaron M. Elliott, Connor J. Elliott.; brothers, Kenneth Spaugh of Columbus, Wendell Scott Spaugh of Lafayette, sister Nina Spaugh Meals (James) of Gallatin, Missouri; half-brothers Delmos Gates (Mary Jane “Janie”) of Columbus and Wayne Ohaver of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Patty Spaugh Sanders; brother-in-law, Grant Sanders; half-brothers, Charles Spaugh, Frank Spaugh, Artie Ohaver, Donnie Gates, and half-sister, Fannie Spaugh Oliver.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Franklin Ward Building, 201 N. Eastview Drive (off of State Road 44), Franklin, IN 46131. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31) in Franklin and at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
