Robert Cordell, 80, Greenwood, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016.
He was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Connersville to the late Wilbur and Roberta Cordell. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and served for two years.
Robert married Connie S. (McGraw) Cordell on June 6, 1958, they lived in Columbus, for 11 years where all four of their children were born. He moved to Greenwood in 1969 to work for AFNB and then went into securities retiring from Hilliard Lyons in December 2015.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie; sister, Dorothy (Don) Peters; daughters, Lynn Phelps, Lori (Tom) Robertson, son: John (Katie) Cordell; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Tellmann, Mitch Robertson, Jenny (Jason) Shepherd, Robin (Kyle) Johnson, Brian Phelps, Andy Cordell and four great grandchildren, Robbie, KC, Charlie and Emmy.
He is preceded in passing by his parents and daughter, Lisa Cordell.
Memorial contributions can be given to the American Lung Association or Riley Hospital for Children.
There will be no service for Robert. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is assisting the family.
