Wal-Mart, 2125 U.S. 31 North: A loss prevention officer reported at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday that a couple took a deep fryer off of the shelf of the store and “returned” it to the customer service center for a gift card.

Franklin Community High School, 2600 Cumberland Drive: A student reported at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday that someone scratched her car.
Theft
1000 block of Hurricane Street: A man reported at 10:57 a.m. Wednesday that his cellphone was stolen. The man who stole the phone was found and arrested.
