INDIANAPOLIS
Fredrick Richard “Dick” Thacker, 77, of Indianapolis, went to his Heavenly home Tuesday, April 26, 2016, with his loving family at his side.
Fred was born July 15, 1938, in Indianapolis to Fredrick E. and Nora W. (Seall) Thacker.
Dick was an installer of ceramic tile for Allen Clay Tile for many years.
He loved woodworking, gardening, feeding ducks, collecting John Deere memorabilia and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Dick married the former Patricia Lea Denny on Oct. 19, 1985, and she preceded him in death Sept. 19, 2010.
He is survived by his daughter, Jody L. (John) Ryan; sister, Florence Gunderman; grandchildren, Chloe, Kira and London; great-granddaughters, Norah, Adalenah and Harlowe; sister-in law, Marcella Thacker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Donald and Raymond Thacker, sister, Margie Thacker.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
