Carolyn Sue (Lewis) Simon

WHITELAND

Carolyn Sue (Lewis) Simon, 68, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Community South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Whiteland.

She was born July 31, 1947, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to Richard M. Lewis Sr. and Laura Imogene (Williams) Lewis.

Sue married George Edward Simon on May 24, 1966. He survives.

Also surviving are her father, Richard M. Lewis Sr. of Arcadia; children, John E. (Linda) Simon of Greenwood and Mark D. Simon of New Whiteland; grandchildren, Ryan (Shelby) Simon, Gregory Simon, Julie Simon, Cody Simon and Emily Simon; one great-grandchild, Skye Simon; brothers and sister, Richard M. (Linda) Lewis, Jr. of Franklin, Judy F. (Lewis) Hobson of Columbus and Garry T. (Carol) Lewis of Monrovia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her mother, Laura Imogene (Williams) Lewis.

Sue was a 1965 graduate of Franklin Community High School.

She was a loving full-time grandmother and former owner of the Carousel Gift Shoppe in Whiteland.

She was a member of the Needham Christian Church. She also was a member of the Patient 20 Homemakers Club; was a past Cub Scout den mother and a member of the Association of Crafts and Creative Industries organization.

Sue enjoyed craft shows, IU basketball, gardening and volunteering.

Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a celebration of Sue’s life at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
