David Lee Harrison

FRANKLIN

David Lee Harrison, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his residence in Franklin.

He was born on April 11, 1938, in Rush County, to Cecil and Roxine (Patterson) Harrison. David married Sharon Schaeffer Harrison. She preceded him in passing on May 15, 2005.

He is survived by children, Sam (Donna) Harrison, Sarah (Scott) DeSalvo, Susan (Kevin) Ryan; Cathie Schaeffer, Amy (Martin) Schroeder and Sherrie (Shawn) Walters. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Fred Harrison.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, wife, Sharon and brother, John Harrison.

David was a graduate of Milroy High School in Rush County and was a graduate of Purdue University, receiving his associate degree in aeronautical engineering.

He was an insurance salesman for more than 25 years and served as the Franklin Township Assessor.

David was a member of Franklin Elks No. 1818. He enjoyed spending time with his brother and family at the “Resort” and having fun with his friends in Franklin.

A celebration of Life will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
